This blog examines, reviews and discusses how worship is being lived out in culture and in the church. We tackle everything from songwriting techniques in corporate worship, to interviewing worship leaders and pastors, to reviewing the last big rock concert.
This is one of my favorite worship songs of the last couple years, great melody, great instrumentation, just a great worship song. I followed the arrangement on the album, but worked in a different instrumental melody on the “Ready Now” bridge.
My favorite song of the latest Delirious album by far. This song has gone over great in worship in the past and I was anxious to get it back in the rotation. The loop is pretty sparse on the verses, just a short voice pad and a few bell tones, the pre-chorus and chorus have piano, strings, and a repeated bell melody. The outro on the album goes crazy, I went less crazy but there are still quite a few things going on by that point. As usual, if you find this useful or helpful please comment back and let me know how you used it, or what changes you made or if you have any questions on the exact arrangement.
John Mark has been amazing to speak to, humble and hungry to see God move. I hope you enjoy hearing these interviews, John Mark has a lot of great insight. Here is our four part video interview series with John Mark McMillan that was recorded in late April 08 when he performed a concert at Life Connection Church.
I recently talked with John Mark McMillan about his upcoming cd titled “The Medicine” which is now available for pre-order and cds start shipping on September 9th, 2008. Our discussion is very informal with a fair amount of music tech talk, so please excuse the informality, I’m not exactly Larry King. We discuss everything from fatherhood, to some recording techniques he’s using in the studio, to what God was doing in him during this latest record, to how How He Loves almost didn’t make the last record.
