Where music, culture and worship meet.

This blog examines, reviews and discusses how worship is being lived out in culture and in the church. We tackle everything from songwriting techniques in corporate worship, to interviewing worship leaders and pastors, to reviewing the last big rock concert.

Sunday Set List: “Day of firsts”

Tagged Under : , , , ,

Nothing like rolling out 3 new ideas all on the same Sunday, why wait ya know? Just knock em out bang bang! We started our Video Testimonial Booth which is a little room setup with a camera and some lights where people in the congregation sit down and record a short testimony about something God has done in their lives. Then we’ll take these videos and rotate them through Life Connection’s website and blog. We did our first live Q&A in the sermon via text messaging. And we finished setup in the booth to allow us to record our worship set live. All in all I’d say it was pretty dang successful, not many hiccups. Oh and not to mention we used a new loop for Hosanna, a song we haven’t played in a looong time and it showed with my awful guitar work on that song. That’s what happens when you focus on writing the loop for 2 weeks and ignore guitar(sorry LCC).

The live recording quality isn’t half bad, but it’s clear where we need to make improvements equipment wise. I posted one of my song’s that we did called How I Live so you can check that out. We were pretty Hillsong heavy on this set, just ended up happening that way, not intentional. I prefer not to be so lopsided but, it’s more than a guideline than a rule.

  1. I Am A TempleJohn Mark McMillan
  2. HosannaHillsong (loop not yet available)
  3. How I LiveKyle Campos (loop available)
  4. Where We BelongHillsong (loop available)
  5. With EverythingHillsong (loop available)
