Where music, culture and worship meet.

This blog examines, reviews and discusses how worship is being lived out in culture and in the church. We tackle everything from songwriting techniques in corporate worship, to interviewing worship leaders and pastors, to reviewing the last big rock concert.

Sunday Set List – “Was that the congregation whoa’ing?”

Tagged Under : , , , , , , ,

First service in 2009 and despite having a lot of folks still out on vacation it was a really amazing service. Unfortunately we don’t have any crowd mics, so I don’t get much of any congregation feedback through my in ears. If I can hear the congregation singing I know they are really belting it out. I was amazed to hear an organic, reprise develop from the congregation of the “whoas” at the end of With Everything. That’s not an easy thing to do with a congregation of our size. But With Everything has really hit our church and it worked perfectly with the series that was opened this week on prayer.

We also brought back Lead Me to the Cross but this time with a loop that changed it up. I heard from quite a few people that the set went well, and I agree that both musically and congregationally, worship was fantastic. Getting those 2 to co-exist is usually easier said than done. Here’s the set:

  1. I Am A TempleJohn Mark McMillan
  2. Lead Me to the CrossHillsong United (loop available)
  3. My Soul SingsDelirious (loop available)
  4. How He LovesJohn Mark McMillan
  5. With EverythingHillsong (loop available)
