Breaking news: Lawsuit against God thrown out of court

Tagged Under : , ,

CourtNebraska Sen. Ernie Chambers sued God in Sep. 2007 seeking a permanent injunction to prevent God from committing acts of violence, like hurricanes, tornadoes and other tools God has at his disposal. Failing to recognize that hurricanes and other natural disasters are anything but a direct and hostile attack against humanity, Ernie thought his only recourse at this point in history is to take God where he is out of his element and that is Judge Marlon Polk’s court room.

Unfortunately for Ernie, Judge Polk found a minor detail that forced him to throw out the case, and that is that Ernie can’t prove he served papers on God. If that’s not a technicality I don’t know what is. Ernie had one of the greatest objections on record to this decision, “If God is omni-present then he is here in Douglas County and in this courtroom.” I don’t even know where you go from there accept to say, “good point. Now get out of here you old bat.”

Judge Polk dismissed the case with prejudice so the case cannot be refiled. If you think that’s the last of Ernie Chambers you don’t know Ernie and his commitment to absurdity. He plans on filing an appeal.
