Emery: Thanks for the taste compliment :) We just got our FireStudio setup and running so I expect some live recording to take place in the next few weeks. We are working on a demo of originals and I post some of the loops I use here from time to time, like here:

Mark: Thanks a ton for taking control back there on the lyrics. That is uber critical and an area sorely in need of some professionalism. You definitely raised the level there.

I thought the set was awesome. The loops sounded sick, people were coming to the booth to see and ask where "those sounds" were coming from. I think with he stripped down band the loops are aloud to shine through. Also I had a blast doing the visual side of worship. I know that the sound and the visual should complement each other and I took it very serious making sure to have the words up before the words were being sung, not having the words up during the instrumental parts, and also transition slides to enhance the words, not just words on the same old background, but I tried to find slides that visually complemented the worship. Drawing more attention to the beauty of the words and less to the lack of, or misplaced, or.... words. I felt like I was as much a part of the worship team "playing" the slides, as JD was on the bass. Again, I thought it was great!!

That's a major change. I love that you kept I Am a Temple raw too. Sometimes the loops feel out of place, but it sounds like you got great taste. Any chance you could post some of your stuff on here so we could hear a bit? No worries if that is loads of trouble.

Kyle,
Great point! It's about so much more than simply adding drum loops. I believe it makes a huge difference even for non-musicians who don't know why things sound so good - they just know it sounds good.

But in terms of drum loops - are we gonna see the iDrum at your church any time soon? ;)

What I really enjoy is being able to bring all the songwriting and arrangement practices I use in bands outside of church into the worship process. All the stuff that you usually add in post production and leave off the live set doesn't have to be left off anymore. This makes for super tight and full arrangements and it's just so rewarding for me to hear that.

Kyle,
Terrific! I've been a huge fan of music with loops since I got introduced to Moby in 1995. It's cool to see loops being used more in worship settings.

I haven't gone there yet (the cost of equipment is my largest prohibitive factor.) - but I highly support it.
