Lap dance to “How He Loves”???
Tagged Under : church, dance, funny, How He Loves, John Mark McMillan
I got sent a brilliant story of a visiting, wasted, couple getting it on to our friend John Mark McMillan’s “How He Loves” during service. I don’t think this is what John Mark had in mind with his crossover ability. I’m guessing things heated up substantially on the “sloppy wet kiss” line.

Wow, that story is crazy. It really made me think about what I would do if I saw that happening in our church. My immediate reaction would be that someone (one of the ushers i guess) would approach them and kindly ask them to refrain from the lap dance during service but maybe that’s the wrong approach? I don’t know, I suppose of none of the congregation was being affected then that’s not a huge deal but then again maybe they need to know that’s not okay to do in that setting, or really any setting for that matter. Maybe by approaching them in a loving way it opens up the conversation for deeper issues that are going on. Maybe the couple at the Helio Concert last night was the very same one!
I had an experiance last night that felt to me, close to what the writer of the article had experienced so it made me think back to this post.
The Helio Sequence concert was freaking amazing, those guys are out of their mind talented and if you haven’t given them a listen you must but anywho… There was this drunk couple that were all over eachother during the concert. Dancing like they were hormonal teenagers trying to “do it” without actualy doing it. There is something so incredibly uncomfortable about watching people make out in public and this was one of those highly uncomfortable moments where all I could do was just look over at Mel and laugh about it.
It was just so out of context it reminded me of the story of the lap dance at church.
So, that’s that, sorry for the long……comment.
I think that behavior is part of the deal of the Helio concert though. That is the place for, getting moved by the music, sharing it with your special lady.
