@ Larry Fries: I think you underestimate David Crowder Band based on the few songs of theirs that tend to be played on the radio. They certainly write a lot of "safe" mainstream worship songs (and most CCM is borderline impossible to listen to), but you can't read their book Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven But Nobody Wants to Die and tell me that it doesn't speak to a broken world. There are not safe or easy answers there.

Heres the deal no one cares to hear worship music out side of the church ,because most churchs are luke warm .they won"t do one damm thing that will mean taking a risk,like lose the cash vendors that come thru the church doors ,bands like David Crowder are owned by Nashville big money ,they make it big because they are owned by them & all those milk toast radio stations like 88.3 in Orlando play that weak stuff ,you can"t believe how fast they change the station,Kim Walker made HOW HE LOVES US well known with 1.6million hits on youtube.com not the milk toast compromising David Crowder band SUPERNATURAL SPONTANEOUS WORSHIP find out what that is.mmm clueless right( 12.14.08 spontaneous worship bethel) like fire acts 2;4 thats the real stuff ,Heidi Baker on youtube.com we need to do here what she does in Africa,we serve a supernatural God ,if you are born again ,this might shock you he lives in you ,some who are don't even know that ,there are 9 manefestations of the Spirit & THAT IS NOT EXTREMISM THATS THE LIVING GOD,

nice! the way I read scripture it's all about relationships. And relationships are messy. Worship isn't music…it's living our lives as a sacrifice and often that sacrifice is being vulnerable with our God given emotions. So when we use music as a tool to worship the living God that music should reflect that…just like you find in the Psalms. Thanks for this post.

Great post. the church seems to need to ask itself (rewrite: WE need to ask ourselves) a few questions.. I agree with you about the cheesiness of worship at megachurches (what IS the point of megachurches, btw?), but then again, isn’t worship about God? And if we are looking at God, won’t we be able to reflect Him, and draw the lost to Him?

Kyle that article that Sally wrote is a real amazing read. Any of you who would like to read something that reflects the heart of a woman who is hurting from the extremism of the church and the modern church trying to find the easy way out of getting into people lives. I believe Sally is bearing the guilt and taking responsibility for something that she may or may not need to but she did. I think she was probably trying to give a good idea and it became doctrine. I am convinced that her Ideas have invaded our culture.
Listen the last line of her article needs to ring true in all of our hearts! We should not have a if we build it they will come mentality but we should have a here am I send me mentality. Please guys lets never think that our music or our preaching or our building should take the place of our relationships and ministry in the world… Let’s Go into the world and compel them to come that His house may be filled.
